Frequently asked questions

When do I need to issue a tax invoice?

If you are registered for GST, you must give a tax invoice within 28 days of a customer asking for one, for taxable sales over $82.50 (GST included).

What happens if I leave my ABN off?

The payer may be required to withhold 47% of the payment and send it to the ATO, so always include your ABN.

Can I show prices including GST?

Yes. Tick "Prices include GST" and the invoice will show the GST component and state that the total includes GST.

Can I use this if I am not registered for GST?

Only GST-registered businesses can issue tax invoices. If you are not registered, set GST to 0 and treat it as a normal invoice.
