Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a purchase order and an invoice?
The buyer sends a purchase order to order goods; the seller sends an invoice to ask for payment. Many sellers quote the PO number on their invoice.
Is a purchase order a contract?
Once the vendor accepts it, a PO usually becomes a binding agreement on the stated items, prices and terms.
